Melbourne guitarist Ben J. Carter has been playing his unique brand of acoustic slide guitar country blues around Melbourne for the last three years and has featured at the Bendigo Blues & Roots Festival for the last two years.
Ben’s reinterpretation of old time blues from the 1920’s and 1930’s aims to pay tribute to the iconic bluesman of the Mississippi Delta from a time when it was just one man and his guitar playing smoke filled juke joints late into the night. Add to the mix a swagger of originals played on acoustic, lap steel and resonator guitars along with a trusty stomp box, it`s up tempo foot stomping finger picking goodness..
Ben`s debut Long Player “Silverline Skyway” is set for release in August. Recorded at Tender Trap studios and mixed at 400 Acres in Melbourne, the album conveys his mastery of finger picking guitar, songs of regret and new beginnings and is accompanied by some of Melbourne`s finest Violin and Cello players adding a country tinge and rich textures to some finely crafted songs.
